This was painted from a small study done many years ago while out painting with a local group called the Al Frescoes.  I came across it recently and decided to try a larger version.  The study was only 6x8 and had more foreground and a completely different sky.  I chose to make it long and narrow and to introduce a stormy sky to throw out the strong whites on the coastguard boats.
